If there are natural teeth to be extracted, then we would set up a consultation appointment. Your Denture Appointment

The Denture appointment consists of 3 appointments in one day. The first appointment will be about an hour long. Then you would come back an hour or an hour and a half for a five-ten minute try in. Then 2-3 hours after that on the same day is when we would deliver the denture to you. The six weeks healing time is recommended, you will get a much better fit and it will be more comfortable.

The Healing Process

It takes a full year for your gums to heal (shrink) and the first bulk of the healing is during the first 6-8 weeks after extractions. When dentures are put in, they will become loose and a temporary liner will be needed 6 weeks after the denture is put in and then a permanent liner one year after the denture has been put in.

If you cannot go without teeth, we would do an immediate denture. That involves extracting the back teeth first and letting you heal for six weeks. After the six weeks you will come in the morning for impressions and that afternoon return to have your front teeth extracted and the denture put in.

If there are any teeth that can be saved, then we would make a partial. A partial is used to replace some of the missing teeth. Learn more about partials here.
